Family Dog IV
At some point in your dog's life, they will need to visit at least one of three places: the vet, the groomer and a boarding kennel. It is crucial that you properly prepare them for these experiences to avoid them from being scary experiences. Instead, they can be something that is familiar and even fun to do!
COURSE DETAILS
For many dogs, going to the vet, groomer or a boarding kennel is a terrifying experience. But it doesn't have to be. If we take the time, we can show our dog these experiences are nothing to fear. With time, they will not only learn to accept these visits, they may even look forward to them.
To achieve this, we need our dogs to accept the following at a bare minimum:
Human handling of their entire body
Brushing of their fur
Brushing of their teeth
Looking at and handling their ears
Evaluating and handling their feet
Trimming their nails
Being comfortable inside of a crate
You also need to know how you can best help your dog in a given situation. For instance what you can do with yoru handling and routines to best set them up for success. We will walk you through all of these tips in this course.
